We abide in Christ by going to church each week, reading his Word often, as well as praying, talking to the Lord on a regular basis. These are the obvious ways we can remain in Him...what else can we do to deepen this journey? In what ways do you practically apply "abiding with Christ" in your day-to-day?
I would love to hear your thoughts or any advice or tips that keep your heart and mind centered on the Lord, that help you fight temptations and distractions...
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, with like Kerry said, good, peaceful and quiet moments in the Word. Looking forward to getting further into 1 John this week as we start Chapter 3!
Have a great night!

I love ending the day with writing to God in my little prayer notebook. This helps me on days that are especially hard and I feel distant from God. Sometimes when I'm driving somewhere I like to talk out loud to Him, as weird as that may sound, but I love it! It helps me feel so much closer to Him. :)
ReplyDeleteI drive and talk out loud too! :) It is so grounding and relaxing! Thanks for your other tip too - I would love to get back into prayer journaling again. I have stacks of them from high school and college but since getting married I feel like I've lost some of that capability for some reason. I sometimes think about starting one up again...Love you Jess! Can't wait to see you guys at Thanksgiving! (Will you be there?)
ReplyDeleteLittle prayers throughout the day when I find my mind listening to lies or my thoughts becoming selfish (just a small phrase, but the peace that comes in knowing he's near to help is so powerful), Christian music when I get lonely and want to be reminded God is there.
